Mill Valley is about 40 minutes down Highway 101 from our Rohnert Park shop, and the fixture work here fits the old cabins in the redwoods. A lot of Mill Valley homes started as early-1900s summer places around Old Mill Park and Blithedale Canyon, and many still carry their original faucets, shutoff valves, and dated toilets that drip, run, or barely work. The damp canopy and steep lots are hard on fixtures, and the shutoffs under the sink often seize from age. Down in Tam Valley and Strawberry the postwar homes are on their second or third set of faucets and disposals. We stop dripping faucets, rebuild running toilets, replace worn shower and tub valves, swap failing garbage disposals, change seized shutoff valves, and set new sinks, faucets, and toilets for the kitchen and bath remodels these older homes need.
What that looks like on the job: A common Mill Valley call is a Blithedale Canyon cabin where an old shower valve drips and the bathroom faucet has stopped shutting off clean. We replace the valve and faucet and free up the corroded shutoffs while we are in there.
